More walking than cycling

stats of the week: run 20 km, cycled 96 km, hill walked 25 km

This was the first time within 9 visits to Lanzarote that there was rain. And it was a lot. So we abstained from cycling as there were strong winds, too. A good experience is that the island's streets are getting improved.

Luckily hill walking was possible and a welcome change.

Back to Lanzarote

stats of the week: cycled 292 km

Cycling and nothing else. The first 5 days on Lanzarote saw us doing the first outdoor cycling of the year. Happy to be back here again, my 9th visit to the lava island.

Our trips were fairly short with 50-60 km each, but at least we counted nearly 4,000 m of ascend. I hope this kind of cautious training will enable me to start the first part of my long planned cycling project starting 23rd March.

Rest needed

stats of the week: run 31 km, zwift cycled  68 km, walked 21 km, gym 1 h

The stats look like a proper week but the performance was the worst of the year. Cycling feels much harder than before and so is running. I don't feel any signs of illness and several Covid tests have proved negative. It seems to be just another boost of aging.

My hope is that a couple of rest days and the Canarian sun will help.
