stats of the week: run 11 km
It was a week of taking it easy and recovering until Saturday, when I took part in the local Halloween 5K race alongside Lake Kemnade. I was keen to find out what my current level of fitness was on a flat, fast course. Together with fellow M75 runner JPZ, I set off at a brisk pace of 5:13 min/km. Everything went smoothly until the 3K mark, when a bout of heavy coughing cost me around 20 to 30 seconds. Nevertheless, I was pleased to cross the finish line in 27:18, recording my fastest 5K time of the year.
